Social Skill Groups

Our passion lies in teaching the "soft skills" needed to be more successful in a wide range of social settings!  We are committed to teaching communication, play and social skills via a behavior analytic framework with an emphasis on natural environment teaching & role play. We utilize only evidence-based practices and serve learners ages 2- 18 (adult groups coming). Our focus is on getting to know the unique needs of each of our participants  and their families in order to tailor a program to meet those needs successfully. We are a very naturalistic setting and make it our mission to capitalize on as many natural teaching opportunities as we can as well as contrive situations in which new skills can be prompted, utilized and reinforced.

Please let us know all availability options and amount of groups you would like to attend/week on the enrollment form.

Before you begin:

  • We meet with you for 45 minutes to plan our social skills targets for your child

  • We spend 45 minutes with your child assessing support needs and current skills

During group involvement:

  • A parent workshop is included in your child's enrollment as well as periodic progress meetings. You can sign up for ongoing/additional parent/caregiver workshops  during sessions to  learn more about social and play skills and the strategies we use. (separate fee/insurance may cover).

  • Progress notes are shared with you regularly on your child's progress

Program focus is on early social targets such as joint attention, social referencing and imitation. This service delivery model is best suited for learners age 2-5 who have little to emerging language and benefit from additional supports to interact more positively and reciprocally with caregivers and peers, expand their play skills repertoire, and make their wants and needs known. All skills are taught via multiple opportunities for practice embedded into fun play based activities.
